Using Microsoft Outlook

EasyHost is currently implementing changes to shared hosting plans that affect email and account types. Details and instructions for completing various tasks vary depending upon when you set up your account and/or whether your migration to the new system has been completed. To determine your current status, log in to SiteEasy and select Email. The Email main page indicates whether you are currently on the Advanced Mail Service or Standard Mail Service.

Advanced Mail Service
Standard Mail Service (Note: EasyHost is in the process of migrating customers to the Advanced Mail Service. Information regarding migration will be provided to you shortly within SiteEasy.)


Advanced Mail Service

To configure your Microsoft Outlook client:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Accounts to display the Internet Accounts window.
  2. Click Add > Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard appears
  3. Enter your display name. This is the name that will appear in the From: field in all of your outgoing mail. Then, click Next.
  4. Enter your email address. Then, click Next. The E-mail Server Names window appears.
  5. Select POP3 as your incoming mail server type.
  6. In the Incoming mail server field, enter:

    mail.[domainname.com]
  7. In the Outgoing mail server field, enter the name of your outgoing mail server. If you are using EasyHost's mail server, enter:

    mail.[domainname.com]

    If you are using a mail server at an ISP instead of EasyHost's mail server to send mail, enter the server name they provided you.
  8. Click Next. The Internet Mail Logon window appears.
  9. In the Account name field, enter the full user name for this email account, including the the domain name and extension. For example, username@sampledomain.com. Then, in the Password field enter your password.

    You can change your email password in SiteEasy. For detailed instructions, see the SiteEasy User Guide.


  10. Click Next. The following dialog box appears.
  11. Select the appropriate connection method. If you are using AOL, select the Connect using my phone line option.
  12. Click Next. Then, click Finish.
  13. The new email account is added to the list of accounts on Outlook's Mail tab. Select the new account and then click the Properites button on the right.
  14. When the Properties dialog box appears, click the Servers tab and make sure the My server requires authentication checkbox is selected.
  15. Click OK to save the settings.

Standard Mail Service


In order to use the SMTP mail server to send mail, you may need to be authenticated per each session. For detailed information, see SMTP authentication.

To configure your Microsoft Outlook client:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Accounts to display the Internet Accounts window.
  2. Click Add > Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard appears
  3. Enter your display name. This is the name that will appear in the From: field in all of your outgoing mail. Then, click Next.
  4. Enter your email address. Then, click Next. The E-mail Server Names window appears.
  5. Select POP3 as your incoming mail server type.
  6. In the Incoming mail server field, enter:

    mail.[domainname.com]
  7. In the Outgoing mail server field, enter the name of your outgoing mail server. If you are using EasyHost's mail server, enter:

    mail.[domainname.com]

    If you are using a mail server at an ISP instead of EasyHost's mail server to send mail, enter the server name they provided you.
  8. Click Next. The Internet Mail Logon window appears.
  9. In the Account name field, enter your user name. This is the user name created for your in SiteEasy. Then, in the Password field enter your password.

  10. Click Next. The following dialog box appears.
  11. Select the appropriate connection method. If you are using AOL, select the Connect using my phone line option.
  12. Click Next. Then, click Finish.
